Latest update on road closure

Good afternoon Helen

I'm so sorry for the delay with information. Last Thursday the council unfortunately threw us a few curve balls and asked us to make some changes.

Although it's presented the team with some challenges, ultimately I believe the changes are for the best given how much work is currently happening at the moment in the area. We suspect that there were some oversight with the other works that have led to a request for some changes.

Rather than progress from Dunton Bassett to Broughton Astley in sequence we'll complete the first and last sections before the Christmas break, this will encompass Coopers Lane and the Station Road service road between the two dead ends. In the new year we'll recommence work on the arguably more disruptive section along the B581 via Broughton Lane, Dunton Road and Station Road.

I've instructed our mailing contractor to issue circa 4100 customer letters, which I've attached. We've arranged a customer drop in session in Broughton Astley Parish Hall on due to its size. This will take place on Tuesday 22 October 2019 and I'm hoping Dunton Basset residents can come and see us without too much trouble.

In addition to the letter we've issued a press release which offers more information about the work and also advertises the drop in session.

I've emailed MP Alberto Costa and the ward councillors within the area. Hopefully this will open a direct line of contact should any customers raise issues with them.

If you would like to catch up by phone, don't hesitate in letting me know.

Kind regards
